Tech Entrepreneur Marc Andreessen Joins Dialpad Board of Directors

Pure-cloud Communications Company Dialpad Set to Redefine Business Communications by Empowering Anywhere Workers

SAN FRANCISCO, November 1, 2016Dialpad, a leader in Modern Business Communications, today announced renowned technology investor Marc Andreessen is joining the company’s Board of Directors. The announcement comes as Dialpad continues to see rapid growth, signing on more than 25,000 customers including Motorola Solutions and Uber, expanding into international markets, and partnering with some of the largest technology companies in the world including Google and Salesforce.

"Dialpad will kill the desk phone and give enterprises the communications tools they need to survive and thrive," said Marc Andreessen, general partner at Andreessen Horowitz.

As a pure-cloud solution, Dialpad does not require any on-premises servers, storage or hardwired phones. This frees customers and their IT teams from the burden of administering and managing traditional infrastructures that cost, rather than contribute to business growth. Dialpad can also be deployed in minutes, enabling organizations of any size to immediately derive more value from their shift to the cloud by better connecting offices and anywhere workers. Through simply logging into the application interface, employees are immediately empowered to connect and collaborate in whatever format they prefer -- voice, video, messaging or SMS -- on any device, anywhere and at any time. In fact, approximately 85 percent of Dialpad users are completely free of their desk phones and have cut the cord on legacy technology.

With over 25,000 paying customers, including Uber, Motorola Solutions, Vivint Solar, Hillary Clinton, Betterment, Netflix, TED and Code42, Dialpad is the only enterprise solution to integrate with Google Apps for Work, LinkedIn and Salesforce Lightning. This connectivity is critical. According to the 2016 "The Era of the Anywhere Worker" report, a survey conducted by Dialpad and Altimeter Group, 77 percent of business professionals currently work outside the office at least a few hours per week, with 87 percent believing it’s very important or important to have technology that enables them to work from anywhere.

"It’s incredibly validating to have one of the greatest investors and entrepreneurs in the Silicon Valley join our board,” said Craig Walker, CEO of Dialpad. “Marc’s ongoing support and now deeper level of investment in Dialpad speaks volumes about our company, our technology and our vision for modern business communications. His experience nurturing and scaling high-growth companies will be invaluable as we continue to transform the future of voice communications and messaging in the enterprise."

Andreessen joins Dialpad's current board members including the company's three co-founders Craig Walker, John Rector and Brian Peterson, as well as Rich Miner, partner at GV (formerly Google Ventures) and co-founder of Android, Blake Krikorian, former Sling Media CEO and co-founder, and Amasia Managing Partner John Kim.
