Dialpad appoints Mike Kourey as Chief Financial Officer

Enterprise cloud executive and board veteran brings extensive experience to cloud leader

SAN FRANCISCO — September 29, 2021 — Dialpad Inc., the industry leader in AI-powered communication and collaboration, today announced Mike Kourey as its chief financial officer. With more than 25 years of experience as an executive leader and board member to high-growth enterprise cloud companies, Kourey brings a wealth of expertise to Dialpad.

Kourey most recently served as CFO of identity leader Okta after five years as board member and audit committee chair. Previously, Kourey served as the CFO of Vlocity, a cloud software company, through strong growth and acquisition by Salesforce. Prior to Vlocity, he served as CFO of Medallia, a cloud-based customer experience management company. Before that, Kourey served as a partner at Khosla Ventures, a venture capital firm.

In addition to leading the significant revenue growth and scale of public and private companies, Kourey has been deeply involved in five successful IPOs as CFO, venture partner or audit chair (Okta, RingCentral, Aruba Networks, Riverbed and Polycom), with two companies surpassing $1 billion in annual revenues. Kourey holds a Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis.

“The appointment of Mike to our executive team is a huge milestone for Dialpad. As we’ve gone through a period of strong growth over the past 18 months, his unparalleled experience in strategic and operational finance leadership roles will be crucial as we significantly scale Dialpad over the coming quarters and years,” said Craig Walker, Dialpad CEO and co-founder. “We're extremely pleased to welcome Mike to the team and leverage his invaluable insights and leadership from driving significant revenue and customer growth at leading cloud companies. He will be a great partner to me and the team as we further achieve our mission of delivering effortless business communications to our customers globally.”

Kourey joins Dialpad at a time of tremendous customer adoption. The company continues to break sales records quarter over quarter as the demand for its cloud-based truly unified Communications as a Service (TrueCaaS) platform intensifies. Over the past 18 months, Dialpad has nearly doubled in size, scaling annual recurring revenue (ARR) to more than $125M and hiring more than 500 people across the globe.

“Dialpad has already emerged as the cloud first, customer first communications and collaboration leader, and I can’t imagine a better time to join the team as we scale globally and ultimately move into the public markets,” said Mike Kourey. “Craig and the amazing Dialpad team have built a culture of constant innovation and customer obsession, and Dialpad is poised to become one of the most important cloud companies for customers of all types and scale.”

Kourey will be responsible for finance, accounting, corporate development, investor relations, information technology, sales operations and facilities. Kourey is the audit chair and on the board of Invision and on the board of trustees at Villanova University.
